Amanda Taylor Hopkins (Mandy) was a Direct Support Professional for My Own Place, Inc. for several years before losing her battle to Juvenile Diabetes in the summer of 2015. She loved giving (all she had) to help the people she loved which included many people supported by My Own Place. In her memory, the residents and staff of My Own Place, Inc. have decided to honor her service with the organization by having an annual FUN(d)raiser. One of her passions was seeing people having fun and learning about new cultures and experiencing life in places away from their home and thus we have established a restricted vacation fund for all donations. Your generous support will help will change the life of a person as your donation will assist a person diagnosed with an Intellectual and Developmental Disability the opportunity to experience the world outside of DC and will improve their overall quality of life by going on a vacation they could otherwise not afford. Please join us for Mandy’s Memorial 2016 held on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 1:30-7:30p at Cabin John Park Group area located near 7700 Tuckerman Lane, Rockville, Md. 20783.
